Objective Policing – Dealing with Difficult People
How many times have you encountered people who “just won’t go with the program”? Or make you
think “What is wrong with you?” How many times have you heard “We can do it the easy way or the
hard way?” and nowadays it seems it turns into the “hard way”? The “easy way” is ALWAYS the best
way. But how do we do it?
Objective Policing – Dealing with Difficult People is about the “easy way”…generating voluntary
compliance. People are naturally selfish; always wanting something…and difficult people are even more
so. WIIFM (What’s in it for me?) This course looks into the core of policing, who we impact and how they
impact us, the means of earning respect, the communication process, what influences people and
influencing their decisions, and handling scenes. We will give you “verbal tools” to use that will keep you
and your fellow officers safer.
